Wilde Photography Studio Collage

An undated photograph of a collage prepared to promote the Wilde Photography Studio in Mishicot, Wisconsin. Many early photos of the village are attributed to the studio with handwritten tags reading only “Wilde” in the corner.

In the March 29, 1910 issue of the Manitowoc Daily Herald, the studio’s opening was announced:

“E. H. Wilde has opened his photo gallery at Mishicott and solicits trade of the public. Mr. Wilde has had experience in the art of photography which makes him capable of serving his patrons in satisfactory manner. Give him a trial.”

In “Mishicot’s Meaningful Memories,” the studio is mentioned:

“John Vertz’s Hardware Store was a most versatile building which housed the Wilde Photography Shop and Chris Meyer’s Cigar Store… It was purchased by Donald McDonald who continued to operate it as a hardware store until it was torn down.”
