Mishicot National Band


Miscellaneous photos of the Mishicot National Band. Photo 1, a postcard print from 1912, was donated by Gilbert Zima. The image was captioned in a newspaper article. Handwritten identification is also provided on the photo envelope. Photo 2 features Richard, Edward, and Peter Brouchoud.

From “Mishicot’s Meaningful Memories“:

The Village of Mishicot had a band called the Mishicot National Band which performed from 1909 to about 1914. It played for dances in the area. Anton Shedivy was the band director with other members named: Ed Stechmesser, George Princl, Alvin Stechmesser, John Flentje and Herbert Stechmesser. Another group, the Brouchoud Brothers, formed a Mishicot National Band also. Their band featured the string instruments and played for local parties and dances.
